Flow problem

Compacted Silo Build-Up

Usable volume can fall even while the outlet keeps working. Earlier records help separate broad compaction from a sudden restriction near the cone.

Flow problem

Map the wall, cone and outlet deposits

Compaction can spread across the floor or lower wall while the outlet continues to pass material. A local cone restriction normally changes flow more abruptly.

Infused Media receives the enquiry. The response identifies the independent cleaning contractor that will quote for and carry out any work you appoint.

Compacted silo build-up may sit directly against a liner, aeration pad or welded surface. The removal boundary should protect those components and record wear or damage separately for the site to investigate.

Keep people away from the outlet and uncertain build-up. Do not strike the vessel or work beneath stored material to estimate how firmly it is attached.

Plan the route from deposit to collection point

Compacted build-up is described by location, depth where known and how it responds during normal discharge. Moisture or long storage may explain why one area hardened.

Protect the liner while removing hard deposits

Compacted product often sits directly against a liner, aeration pad or welded surface. Removal needs enough control to expose the area without treating the vessel itself as disposable. Photograph wear, cracking or liner damage as a separate finding for the site to investigate.

Separate removed material from live stock

The operator assigns a recovery point and keeps the loosened deposit out of any product stream still approved for use.

A steady loss of recorded capacity may indicate floor-level compaction, while a sudden flow stop is more consistent with a local restriction.

Can lost capacity show where compaction sits. It can support the assessment when compared with levels, discharge quantities and drawings, but the brief should still mark any area that has not been directly confirmed.
