Preparing a Silo for Inspection

Ask the inspector to mark the exact weld, seam or fitting that needs exposing. That drawing becomes the reference for the clean and completion photographs.

Guide notes

Cleaning and inspection remain separate

The inspector's marked drawing is the reference for both cleaning and completion photographs. General wording such as “ready for inspection” leaves the important surface undefined.

Infused Media receives the enquiry. The response identifies the independent cleaning contractor that will quote for and carry out any work you appoint.

Preparing a silo for inspection requires coordination with the appointed inspector. The empty period, surface condition, reference drawing and handover photographs all work back from what that specialist needs to examine.

Cleaning exposes the agreed areas. The appointed competent person assesses condition, decides what further examination is needed and reports their findings.

Prepare the surfaces named by the inspector

The inspector identifies the internal areas that must be visible and anything the cleaning crew must not disturb.

Match completion photographs to the inspector’s drawing

Use repeatable viewpoints that correspond with the inspector’s marked drawing. Name any seam, support or fitting that remains hidden and return that decision to the inspector. A cleaning record should never describe a partly exposed surface as inspected or fit for use.

Separate the acceptance decision

The inspector, not the cleaning note, decides whether the exposed condition is sufficient for the planned examination.

The silo inspection preparation service turns the brief into cleaning work. Use the access planning guide and capture completion through the post-cleaning completion record.

Plan the order with both parties.

Drying, isolation, access, removed material and site completion may affect timing. Confirm those requirements before booking the window.
