Silo Access Planning Guide

Map the access route from the gate to the hatch. Vehicle standing, platforms, openings and controlled machinery each need a named owner.

Include vehicle, equipment and pedestrian routes

A workable route joins the entrance, vehicle position, platform, opening and recovery area. Each access point and connected machine needs a responsible site contact.

Infused Media receives the enquiry. The response identifies the independent cleaning contractor that will quote for and carry out any work you appoint.

Walk the route from the gate as if the cleaning vehicle were arriving: where can it stand, and how will the crew reach the working opening without crossing live traffic? The silo access planning guide puts that route on the same drawing as the machine that must stop and the person who controls it. Those decisions determine whether the planned position is usable.

Draw the site entrance, vehicle route and working position as well as the hatch.

Who confirms the route on the day?

On the day, the local contact walks the route from the gate to the vehicle position and then to each platform and opening. Tight turns, overhead restrictions, pedestrian crossings and nearby live equipment are checked there. Door codes and keys stay within the site’s approved channel.

The plan names the person controlling each access point and connected machine; it does not authorise entry by itself.

Refer to the guide with the site team

The local team checks the route and names the people controlling access, connected plant, shutdown and handover.

Mark the point that could stop the visit

Photograph the tightest vehicle turn and the final platform or opening. Those two positions show whether equipment can reach the silo without crossing live traffic or relying on an unusable access point.

Review the completed access plan with the cleaning plan. It is especially useful when reviewing remote silo cleaning or coordinating facilities management responsibilities.

Should access keys or codes be included?

Note the authorised contact and access process. Share sensitive credentials only through the site’s approved method when genuinely required.
